Texas Rio Grande Valley Athletics

Showed tremendous improvement in her second season with the Lady Broncs, dropping her stroke average five stroke from her freshman season... Looks to continue her improvement as a junior... Also an outstanding student off the course, earning Athletic Director's Honor Roll recognition in both of her years at UTPA... Earned another impressive honor, being named an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award Winner for the 1999-00 academic year... Only six women were selected in women's golf in the nation. 

1999-00 (Sophomore):
Had her first career top-20 finish at the Lady Bronc Classic with a 14th place showing, playing as an individual (2/24)... Finished up her second season as a Lady Bronc by shooting her third best round of the season, an 87 at the Eastern Kentucky Invitational (4/15)... Was third on the team overall at the Arkansas-Little Rock Invitational with a 256 (10/19)... Shot a career best 84 in second round of the Arkansas Little Rock Invitational... Finished 47th at the Lady Cardinal Invite (10/5)... Helped the Lady Broncs to second overall at the Islander Invitational, placing in a tie for 53rd overall (10/26). 

1998-99 (Freshman): 
Espinoza shot her low round of the season, an 89, at the Sam Houston State Ellingson Invitational (11/3)... Espinoza competed in only two tournaments, the Ellington Invitational and the Lady Bronc Classic... Had her best finish of the season at the Lady Bronc Classic, taking 24th place overall (3/9).

Personal:
Adriana is the daughter of Alfredo and Diana Espinoza... Espinoza played her high school golf under Coach Rene Rangel at John B. Alexander High School in Laredo, TX... Balt Ramos, golf pro at Casa Blanca Golf Course in Laredo has provided additional instruction... An Art major at UTPA.
