Lana Spitler

Lana Spitler joined the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women’s soccer staff as an assistant coach on July 21, 2025. 
 
Spitler spent the 2024-25 season as the Zaragoza CFF youth coach, where she helped plan trainings, prepared and organized teams for competition, and was involved in club projects to develop players into professionals. 
 
Prior to her time with Zaragoza CFF, Spitler was the assistant men’s soccer coach at Keystone College. While at Keystone, Spitler helped plan and organize trainings, monitored player performance, provided feedback to improve team and individual success, oversaw team academic performance, and assessed video of games and trainings for the team. 
 
Before joining Keystone, Spitler got her first taste of coaching as an assistant coach with Pipeline Soccer Club working with the 13U girls team. 
 
Before getting into coaching, Spitler played professionally, most recently playing with Zaragoza CFF from August 2020-May 2025. 
 
Spitler also spent time with IK Uppsala (2019) and Sandvikens IF (2017-18) in Sweden. Spitlzer was a practice squad player with the Washington Spirit (2017), was on the FC Pacific (2016) of the WPSL, and helped the Washington Spirit Reserves win the W-League Title in 2015. 
 
Collegiately, Spitler played four seasons at East Carolina University where she was the team captain in 2016 and 17. Spitler was a Preseason All-Conference honor in 2016 while earning All-American Athletic Conference Second Team honors in 2015 and 2016. 
 
Spitler earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Fitness Specialist from East Carolina in 2017.
