Mikey Rodriguez joined UTRGV Athletics on a full time basis as Athletics Video Production Coordinator on July 13, 2021 and was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics Video Production on Aug. 1, 2024.

Rodriguez has been part of the UTRGV Athletics game day experience since 2015, serving on the broadcast crew in a variety of roles, including technical director, replay operator, graphics operator and camera operator. He has participated in a similar role with local USL team, the RGV FC Toros, since 2016, while previously doing so with the local NBA G-League team, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, from 2013-18.

Rodriguez came to UTRGV after working with the McAllen Convention Center from May 2019 until July 2021 as the A/V Tech and Digital Signage Manager. In that role, Rodriguez was responsible for the video screens, projectors, switches and mixers in the exhibit halls, ballrooms, board rooms and meeting rooms in addition to all digital signage around the facility.

Rodriguez served as the Interim Technical Services Manager at Bert Ogden Arena from June 2018 through April 2019, operating all video screens, including the area video board, ribbon boards, concourse television and digital signage while assisting with all game day and concert operations.

Rodriguez began helping at Bert Ogden Arena after originally starting H-E-B Park as the A/V Director in March 2017, where he oversaw all video and audio operations.

Rodriguez started his career with State Farm Arena as the A/V Director Assistant in March 2013, helping to put on more than 8,000 events in four years.
