The University of Texas-Pan American men's basketball team was back in action after final exam week against Air Force on Saturday at the Clune Arena. The Broncs came up short though as the Falcons defeated them 71-50.
In the first half of play the Broncs shot 9-24 (37.5 percent) scoring 26 points. The Falcons led most of the first half but the Broncs were able to bring the lead down to five. Air Force's Andrew Henke had 11 points for the half to go along with four rebounds.
Emmanuel Jones finished the game with 15 points and six rebounds. Nick Weiermiller shot 2-5 from the three-point line and finished with eight points and five assists.
In the second half it was all Air Force as they shot 13-26 (50 percent) from the field and led by as many as 24 points with 2:57 left in the game.
The Broncs finished the game shooting 38 percent and collected 21 rebounds while the Falcons shot 52 percent and collected 36 rebounds.
The Broncs are back in action Thursday Dec. 18 at the UTPA Fieldhouse where they will face off against the University of Texas San Antonio Roadrunners at 7 p.m.
