After dropping a straight 7-0 loss to Rice, the University of Texas-Pan American women's tennis program (1-13) dropped a hard fought battle to the Lady Cougars of Houston as they fell short 5-2 this Saturday (March 28) afternoon at the John E. Hoff Courts in Houston, TX.

As the Lady Broncs dropped all three matches in doubles (8-3, 8-5, 8-7), the women's team picked up two wins in singles as Stephanie Willerding defeated Lucy Forward 7-6, 6-3 and Luisa Cantu defeated Laura Ring in three sets by a score of 3-6, 6-4, 10-6.

A new change in the lineup, Malin Andersen, in the number-three spot, dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision to Lynley Wasson and in the number-four spot, Megan Bedeau dropped a 6-1, 6-7, 10-8 decision to Joanna Kacprzyk.

In her second appearance in number-five singles, Reetta Raty fell short to Vicky Simpson as she lost 6-1, 7-5 and teammate Sarah Burton dropped a quick 6-1, 6-1 decision to Neila Starratt.

The Lady Broncs return to the Orville Cox Tennis Center as they play host to the SFA Lady `Jacks next Thursday (April 2) with match-time yet to be determined.
