In their second face-off of the season, the University of Texas-Pan American baseball program (10-33) defeated the UT-Brownsville Scorpions 8-1 this Wednesday (April 22) afternoon at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.

With a three-run opening inning, the Broncs lead the way as they held back the Scorpions to six hits and one run. Scott Wingo added a career-high nine strikeouts and two walks as he was tagged with his third win of the season.
The Broncs went on to score three runs in back-to-back frames (third and fourth) and scored again in back-to-back frames as they scored two runs in the sixth and seventh.
