BATAVIA, Ohio - The Texas-Pan American women's golf team shot a combined 320 in the third and final round to finish 12th in the University of Cincinnati Fall Classic at Elks Runs Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio.
Sarah Kothny continued her strong play shooting a tournament best 76 (+4) in the third round giving her a three round score of 235 and finished the tournament at (+19) and tied for 27th overall.
Haley Hocott who led the Broncs leaderboard after the first day of competition, struggled in her final 18-holes shooting an 84 (+12) to finish the tournament tied for 42nd place. Hocott finished tied with teammate Majo Camey who rebounded from a rough second round 84 and hit a five over par 77 in the final round. Elena Arroyo, (83, 255) and Melinda Uriegas, (84, 256) rounded out the tournament for the Broncs.
Bambee De La Paz from host Cincinnati was the tournament champion by shooting a final round 71 (-1) and won by three stroked over Florida International's Cristina Marin who finished second. De La Paz, was +1 for the tournament shooting a combined three-round total of 217. Marin shot a four-over-par 76 for a three round score of 220. Natasha Gobey of Toledo, (71,221) finished third, while Penn State's Gia Faneli (72, 223) finished fourth.
The Broncs next Fall tournament will be in two-weeks when they travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma to compete in the Oral Roberts University Shootout. The two-day tournament will begin on Monday October 4th.
