Van Comen, who entered game four hours after the first pitch was thrown, led the 13th inning off with a triple to the right-center field gap.

Saint Louis (2-1) started the day with an impressive 17-7 victory over Illinois-Chicago in Saturday's matinee. They kicked off the scoring in the nightcap with a run in the first. Plunk left the game for UTPA after retiring only two batters.

The Billikens added a pair of runs in the third to take a three run lead. Fernandez led off the inning with a single to left, and was followed by a Zach Miller double to left-center, putting a pair of Billikens into scoring position. Travis Parker's ground out scored Fernandez, and Marco DiRoma's single scored Miller.

The Broncs began their rally in the bottom half the third. Vinne Mejia reached on an error by Fernandez in right. The next hitter up was Stuart MacInnes who drove the C.J. Rose offering over the wall in left, putting the Broncs in front 4-3.
