OREM, UT- The University of Texas-Pan American men's basketball 's 2010-11 season came to and end on Thursday night at the UCCU Center on the campus of Utah Valley University, in a 71-70 quarterfinal loss to North Dakota in the 2011 Great West Conference tournament.

The Broncs (6-25) rallied back from a nine-point halftime deficit to take a seven point second half lead. North Dakota (17-14) deflected Jared Maree's inbounds pass with 2.6 seconds remaining in the game to clinch the one point victory.

North Dakota's Patrick Mitchell hit a three-pointer from the right wing to cap off a 14-5 run to start the game for the Sioux. Troy Huff's lay-up with 5:18 remaining in the half gave UND their largest lead at 11. The Sioux outscored the Broncs 33-24 in the first twenty minutes holding the Broncs to just 30% shooting from the field.

Aaron Urbanus was a huge second half spark for the Broncs, The Austin, Texas native put in five points as part of a 13-4 run to open the second half. Josh Cleveland's dunk with 15:06 to play tied the game for the first time in the second half. Two possessions later Cleveland would hit a jumper from the left elbow to give UTPA their first lead of the game at39-38 with 13:31 to play.

Cleveland's jumper started a 10-2 run, capped off by another Urbanus three, which gave UTPA a 47-40 advantage with 11:43 to play in regulation. The seven-point margin was UTPA's largest lead of the game. Mitchell would re-claim the lead for the Sioux with his jumper at the 7:08 mark putting UND on –top 52-51. The two schools would trade the lead four more times in the second half.

The Broncs led 62-61 with 2:56 to play in regulation after a pair of Ruben Cabrera free-throws. The Sioux responded with an 8-0 run and took a seven point lead at 69-62 with 1:10 to play in the game. The Broncs cound themselves down by four with 11 seconds to play when Urbanus took the ball the length of the floor and hit a net-swishing three from the left week to put the Broncs within one.

Urbanus, led all scorers with 18 points, hitting six threes while dishing out a team-high six assists in the loss for UTPA. Maree knocked in three treys and finished with 13 points and six boards. Cabrera and Kieondre Arkwright each chipped in with 12 points with Cabrera adding 12 boards.

Mitchell and, Troy Huff each scored 12 points to lead for the Fighting Sioux. UND will move on to face Houston Baptist in the semifinal round.
