FLAGSTAFF, Arizona – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women's tennis team kicked off a stretch of three matches in three days at head coach Stephanie Vallejos' alma mater, Northern Arizona, with a 2-5 neutral site loss to the Eastern Washington University Eagles on Saturday at the Continental Country Club.
 
The Broncs (3-10) picked up both of their points in singles, as Didi Fatchikova won her third-straight match, 6-3, 7-5 over Moira Hedberg at No. 1, and Anastasia Burobina won in her return to the lineup, 8-4 over Alexis Filliol in a pro set at No. 6.
 
Fatchikova and Wanda Beguelin also won their third-straight doubles match, 8-7 at No. 2 over Rocio Norena and Chelsea Patton.
 
The Eagles (6-12) won the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches to clinch the first point.
 
The Broncs had opportunities to win two of the remaining four doubles matches, as both No. 3 and No. 4 went to a third set, but Beguelin fell to Patton 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 and Manon Lavrijssen fell to Kelsey Knight 6-4, 2-6, 6-2, respectively.
 
The Broncs face off against Idaho State on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
