Box ScoreHOUSTON – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's basketball team fell to the University of Houston Cougars 72-58 on Thursday at Hofheinz Pavillion.
Junior
Shaquille Hines led the Broncs (4-3) with 16 points on 8-of-16 shooting and six rebounds. Freshman
Dan Kimasa scored a career-high 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting and a career-high nine rebounds.
Cavon Baker led four Cougars (3-1) in double-figures scoring with 18 points.
Eric Weary Jr. scored 17 points. Baker and Weary combined for eight of the Cougars' 11 three-pointers.
Jherrod Stiggers scored 12 points with nine rebounds, seven assists and two blocks.
Devonta Pollard scored 10 points with 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The Broncs still led at 9-7 on a free throw by sophomore
Janari Joesaar, but the Cougars scored the next eight points to take a seven-point lead.
The Broncs pulled within 17-14 on a Hines jumper with 11:45 left in the first half, but the Cougars responded with a 7-0 run to push their lead out to 10.
The Cougars led by as many as 24 with 16:07 remaining, but the Broncs followed by scoring 14-straight points to pull within 10 at 53-43. The Broncs were still within 10 at 60-50 on a Kimasa layup with 5:52 left, but the Cougars responded with a 10-4 to put the game out of reach.
The Broncs are back in action on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. when they visit Sam Houston State.
