PHOENIX, Ariz. – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women's tennis team fell 2-5 to the New Mexico State University Aggies on Friday at the Paseo Racquet Center.
 
The Aggies (11-8) got out to an early advantage as they picked up the doubles point after sweeping through doubles.
 
New Mexico State picked up wins on four of the six singles courts as the Broncs (7-11) won on courts five and six. Mariana Ranzahuer defeated Mia Brandt 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5 singles and Natacha Minc posted a 6-4, 6-2 win over Mari-Pier Thiffault at No. 6.
 
The Broncs forced three sets on courts one and three as Katia Stavroulaki recorded a 6-4 win in her first set against Ashvarya Shrivastava but fell in the second set 5-7 before falling in the third 3-6. Reegan Greenwood dropped her opening set 4-6 to Denise Van Der Ben but bounced back with a 7-5 win in the second before falling 3-6 in the third.
 
The Broncs are back on the court on Saturday when they face the Chicago State at the Paseo Racquet Center.
