EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley men's basketball team (2-8) kicks off a three-game home stand as part of a stretch of six out of seven at home when it hosts Texas State (4-3) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.

It's Community Heroes Night. UTRGV Athletics would like to thank police, firefighters, emergency medical service personnel, active duty military, veterans, nurses and doctors for their service by offering them free general admission to this game with proper identification. Families and guests of community heroes can purchase general admission tickets at the discounted price of $5 each.
 
Community heroes arriving before 6:40 p.m. that check-in at the main entrance will be invited onto the court during the national anthem.
 
There will be a moment of silence before the national anthem to honor the community heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice, including all of the brave men and women that served at Pearl Harbor 75 years earlier.
 
Fans can nominate community heroes to be recognized at the game at UTRGVNation.com/Hero.
