EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros women's tennis is set to host the Laredo Community College Palominos on Senior Day on Monday at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
The match starts at 2 p.m. and attendance is complimentary. Gates open at 1 p.m.
Last Time OutThe Vaqueros (7-7, 3-2 WAC) evened their record with a 4-3 win against Seattle U to close out conference play.
The Redhawks swept through doubles but the Vaqueros would win on four of the six singles courts.
Dominique Ibarra started things with a win on court four.
Tara Donaho then won on court five and that was followed by a win by
Doris Aleksovska on court five that tied the match.
Natacha Minc bounced back after dropping her first set with back-to-back wins in the second and third to take the match winning it for the Vaqueros.
Scouting the PalominosThe Palominos are 0-4 on the season after coming off of a loss to Texas A&M-Kingsville on March 25.
Laredo Community College has one student-athlete from McAllen in Lisa Carvajal.
The Palominos have faced St. Mary's, Tyler Junior College, Southeastern Oklahoma State and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
The All-Time SeriesThe Vaqueros are 14-2 all-time against the Palominos in a series that dates back to 1986.
These two teams last faced off was on February 16, 2011 when the Palominos picked up the 4-3 win at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
The Vaqueros last defeated the Palominos on March 11, 2006 in Edinburg.

Reegan Greenwood is currently tied for fifth in program history with 50 career singles wins. She is now tied with Tania Webster (1988-91) for fifth place. Ellen Nelissen (1991-95) tops the all-time list with 67 wins.
