EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley men's basketball team (9-12, 1-3 WAC) closes out a three-game home stand against Chicago State University (6-15, 1-3 WAC) on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
It's Greek Night. The fraternity or sorority with the highest percentage of attendance relative to its size will be declared "Greeks of the Game" to earn bragging rights and in-game recognition. There will be two surprise announcements at the game involving the leading organizations participating in the
Ultimate Greek Challenge, as well as an exciting added incentive to the challenge.
Additionally, each fraternity or sorority in attendance will have the chance to submit one poster into the Greek Poster Contest for the chance to win a UTRGV prize. Winners will be decided through a Facebook photo contest in which fans can vote for their favorite posters by positively reacting to the photo with a like, love, laugh, or wow.
Participants must check in their posters with athletics staff by 6:50 p.m. Winners will be announced during the second half of the basketball game.
Each submission will earn 10 bonus points towards the
Ultimate Greek Challenge.
Bonus points will also be added to the challenge and given to each organization that RSVP's its participation in advance for Saturday's in-game timeout activities by contacting UTRGV Student Program Advisor for Fraternity and Sorority Life Kristen Garza at
kristen.garza@utrgv.edu.
This game is worth triple points in the
Ultimate Greek Challenge.
