TULSA, Okla. – Senior Koby Jansen closed out the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships with a victory to lead the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley men's tennis team on Sunday at Union High School Tennis Courts.
 
Jansen took on Buffalo's Vidit Vaghela in the pre-qualifying consolation draw as he closed out his tournament with a 6-4, 6-1 victory.
 
Senior Elliot Johnstone saw his match go the distance as he took on Western Athletic Conference opponent Tom Kruse from UMKC. Johnstone opened the match with a 6-3 win in the first set before falling 7-5, 7-5 in the second and third.
 
UTRGV will now turn their focus to the USTA Futures event on October 14 in Harlingen.
