EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley men's basketball team (10-19, 2-10 WAC) plays its home finale when it hosts Utah Valley (12-15, 4-8 WAC) for homecoming on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
The evening begins with a free tailgate party and barbeque cook-off at 5, followed by the burning of the letters at 6:30 in Parking Lot F outside the fieldhouse. UTRGV Athletics will honor the 2017 Athletics Hall of Fame Class at halftime. This year's class includes the 1980-81 men's basketball that advanced to the NIT team and its top player, former NBA player Kenneth "Apple" Green, baseball players Jack Ewing and Jim Proctor, women's basketball player Becky (Dube) Thomas, and women's tennis player Ellen Nelissen.
Doors open at 6.
