EDINBURG – There are currently 13 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on how some of them they're doing, courtesy of Eurobasket.

Shaquille Hines (2012-16) helped Basketball Loewen Braunschweig (2-2) upset 16th-ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (3-8) 87-69 in the German BBL on Saturday. In his first season with the team, Hines is averaging 4.9 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.
 
Janari Joesaar (2015-16) led BC Kalev/Cramo (11-1) to a 104-56 victory over Jekabpils in the Latvian LatEstBL on Tuesday. He scored 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 20 minutes. Overall, Joesaar is averaging 10.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.8 steals per game.

Lauri Toivonen (2012-14) scored five points with eight rebounds, but Lapuan Korikobrat lost to the Helsinki Seagulls in the Finnish Korisliiga 104-81. Toivonen is averaging 6.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 13 games. 

Luis Valera (2008-10) scored nine points in 17 minutes, but Azuqueca fell to Almansa 73-66in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). Valera is averaging 6.9 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.

Paul Stoll (2006-08) is in his first season with Maccabi Ashdod/Be'er Tuvia in Israel and is currently averaging 18.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 3.6 steals per game.
