EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's tennis team defeated Laredo Community College 7-0 on Friday at the Orville Cox Tennis Center for its program record 10^th home win of the season.
 
UTRGV finished with a perfect 10-0 record at home this season. It's the seventh time in program history that the program has finished undefeated at home. 
 
UTRGV (11-8) got things rolling in doubles as they did not drop game winning 6-0 on all three courts. Sophomore Anastasia Belyaeva and freshman Lasya Patnaik picked up the win over Jennifer Hundsnurscher and Tania Ramirez on court three.
 
Senior Dominique Esparza and junior Doris Aleksovska clinched the point with a win over Monika Cantu-Esparza and Priscilla Morales on court two and then it was juniors Dominique Ibarra and Marine Darzyan closing out doubles with a win over Chantal Lozano and Kely Oliveria on court one.
 
In singles, Belyaeva and Ibarra rolled with 6-0, 6-0 wins on courts four and three before Aleksovska clinched the win with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Morales on court five.
 
Patnaik kept the momentum going with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Ramirez on court six before Esparza made it 6-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lozano on court one in her final home match of her career. Darzyan finished off the scoring with a 6-1, 6-1, win over Cantu-Esparza on court two.  
 
UTRGV will be back in action on Friday, April 6, when it travels to Seattle, Washington to face Chicago State in its second Western Athletic Conference cluster of the season.
