EDINBURG – There are currently 13 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on how some of them they're performing, courtesy of Eurobasket.

Janari Joesaar (2015-16) was the major contributor in BC Kalev/Cramo's (12-1) victory against Jurmala (7-8) 103-84 in the Latvian LatEstBL on Thursday. He scored 18 points and added four assists in 28 minutes. BC Kalev/Cramo Tallinn is in second in the LatEstBL. Joesaar is averaging 11.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game.

Shaquille Hines (2012-16) contributed to Basketball Loewen Braunschweig's (5-4) victory against BG Goettingen (4-10) 80-76 in the German BBL on Wednesday. He scored six points with eight rebounds and three assists. Basketball Loewen Braunschweig is in fourth in the BBL. Hines is averaging 4.6 points and 3.0 rebounds in nine games.

Lauri Toivonen (2012-14), who plays in the Finnish Korisliiga scored 10 points with five rebounds for Lapuan Korikobrat (5-13) in a loss to Kouvot (#6) on Friday. Toivonen is averaging 6.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.

Luis Valera (2008-10) scored eight points for Azuqueca (8-7) in a loss to HLA Alicante (11-4) in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). Valera is averaging 6.9 points and 2.9 rebounds in 15 games.
