RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 11 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on how some of them they're doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Perry Petty (2010-11) scored 33 points with five rebounds, five assists and three steals to lead Gorgan to an 87-83 victory over Mashad (2-2) in the Iranian Super League on Monday. Petty is averaging 20.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.7 steals per game.

Janari Joesaar (2014-15) scored 17 points with four rebounds, four assists and three steals in Kalev/Cramo's 111-65 victory over TLU/Kalev. Joesaar is averaging 10.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game. 

Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 13 points with five rebounds, but Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt fell to Oliver Baskets 68-67 in the German BBL. Hines is averaging 8.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.

Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) scored 12 points as Kobrat fell to KTP Basket in the Finnish Korisliiga. Toivonen is averaging 4.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game. 

Terry Winn III (2017-19) scored 13 points with five rebounds as Larochette fell to Musel Pikes 91-66 in the Luxembourg Total League on Saturday. Winn is averaging 28.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists in three games. 

Luis Valera (2008-10) scored 11 points with six rebounds to help Azuqueca to an 82-77 victory over Lanzarote in the Spanish on Saturday. Valera is averaging 14.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
