EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's tennis team returns home on Saturday to play host to the University of Houston at 11 a.m. at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
 
Attendance is free and fans are encouraged to attend. 
 
All-Time Series

• UTRGV is 0-9 all-time against Houston in a series that dates back to 2002.
• Both teams last faced off last season as Houston won 4-0 on Mar. 12, 2018 in Houston.
• All matches in the series have been played in Houston.

Scouting Houston

• Houston is 5-4 on the season.
• Houston is on a two-match losing streak after falling 0-7 to LSU and 3-4 to Florida Gulf Coast.
• The five wins for Houston have come against Lamar, Sam Houston State, Incarnate Word, Wichita State, and Stephen F. Austin.
• Houston is comprised of five underclassmen and two juniors. No one on the roster competed for Houston last year. 

Last Weekend

• UTRGV picked up its second win of the season last weekend with a 4-3 win over.
• After dropping the doubles point, UTRGV won four of the six singles matches.
• Dominique Ibarra defeated Nini Memishishi 6-2, 6-3 on court one.
• Michelle Walker beat Autumn Bellow 6-0, 2-6, 7-6 on court three.
• Nethmi Waduge defeated Allison Stewart 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 on court five.
• Sandra Putz picked up the 6-0, 7-6 win over Ileana Mocciola on court six.
• UTRGV dropped its final match of the weekend 0-4 to No. 21 Texas A&M.
