Trevelle Hill scattered five hits over seven innings to lead The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley baseball team past Grand Canyon University (GCU) 3-2 on Friday at Brazell Field at GCU Ballpark
Hill (6-1) struck out two, with the final strikeout coming with a runner at third and one out in the seventh, preventing the tying run from scoring.

Christian Sepulveda led UTRGV (21-12, 7-3 WAC) offensively by going 2-for-3. His big hit was a two-run double to give UTRGV a 2-0 lead in the first against
Pierson Ohl (3-4).
Freshman Vela alum
Aaron Galvan also went 2-for-3, marking his first multi-hit game during conference play.
After GCU (17-16, 5-5 WAC) tied the game in the fourth on a home run by
Quin Cotton, junior
Elijah Alexander hit a go-ahead double in the sixth.
Cotton finished 2-for-4.
UTRGV and GCU play the middle game of this three-game series on Saturday at 8 p.m.
