RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 14 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket: 
 
Perry Petty (2010-11) scored 22 points with six assists and four steals to lead Gorgan to victory over Chemidor 86-80 in the Iranian Superleague. Petty is averaging 16.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 2.9 steals in 10 games.
 
Janari Joesaar (2014-15) scored 22 points with three assists to lead Kalev/Cramo past TLU/Kalev 99-89. Joesaar is averaging 10.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.7 steals.
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 11 points in 27 minutes as Fraport Skylines Frankfurt fell to EWE Baskets 87-74 in the German BBL. Hines is averaging 6.8 points, and 4.7 rebounds in 13 games.
 
Lauri Toivonen (2011-2014) scored eight points with five rebounds and three assists as Kobrat fell to BC Nokia 81-65 in the Finnish Korisliiga. Toivonen is averaging 4.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.
 
Luis Valera (2008-2010) scored 17 points with six rebounds, but Azuqueca fell to Rivas 71-60 in the Spanish EBA. Valera is averaging 14.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 16 games.

Emmanuel Jones (2007-09) played for Yulon Luxgen in Taiwanese SBL.
Mike Hoffman (2016-18) played for Telstar in Luxembourg Nationale 2. 
Julius Allgood (2006-09) played for Bancola in Dominican Rep. La Romana L.
Tyson Smith (2018-19) plays for Orbi in Georgian A League.
Everett Osborne (2014-2016) played for Bellarine Storm in Australia Local Leagues.
Lew Stallworth (2016-18) plays for BC Zaporizhya in Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague
