RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 14 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on how some of them they're doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Luis Valera (2008-10) scored 15 points with seven rebounds to lead Azuqueca to a 65-62 victory over Tobarra in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) on Saturday. Valera is averaging 14.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
 
Janari Joesaar (2014-15) scored 12 points with six rebounds, but Kalev/Cramo fell to Stelmet Enea BC 92-70. Joesaar is averaging 10.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 10 points with seven rebounds to lead Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt past Giessen 46ers 81-65 in the German BBL on Saturday. Hines is averaging 6.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in 12 games. 
 
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) scored 12 points with five rebounds as Kobrat fell to KTP Basket 86-75. Toivonen is averaging 4.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 15 games. 
 
Terry Winn III (2017-19) scored six points with six rebounds in his debut for Al Sadd as part of a 94-77 loss to Al Arabi in the Qatari D1
