RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least nine players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of

In his season debut, Janari Joesaar (2014-15) scored 19 points with eight rebounds to lead Kalev/Cramo to an 88-82 victory over Tsmoki-Minsk in the VTB United League on Wednesday.
Perry Petty (2010-11) scored 15 points with four rebounds and three assists to lead Shahrdari Grogan to a 77-54 victory over Exxon SC in the Iranian Superleague on Monday. He scored 15 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists. This season, Petty is averaging 13.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals while leading his team to a 4-0 start.
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored six points with five rebounds and three assists, but DEAC fell at undefeated Szombathely 77-71 in the Hungarian A Division. This season, Hines is averaging 11.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 steals in nine games.
Luis Valera (2008-10) scored eight points with four rebounds, but Guadalajara fell to Nautico Tenerife 76-62 in the Spanish EBA. Valera is averaging 12.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

Terry Winn III (2017-19) played for Odessa in Ukrainian Superleague
