RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 14 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on how some of them they're doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Tyson Smith (2018-19) scored 16 points with 10 assists, eight rebounds and seven steals, leading Orbi to victory against Zestaponi 82-80 in the Georgian A League. Smith is averaging 18.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 5.0 steals per game. 
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 19 points and went 6-for-6 at the free throw line as the Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt fell to Brose Baskets 87-76 in the German BBL. Hines is averaging 7.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
 
Janari Josesaar (2014-15) scored 14 points with six rebounds to lead Kalev/Cramo to a 76-75 victory against Zenit in the VTB United League. Joesaar is averaging 10.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game.
 
Terry Winn III (2017-19) scored nine points as Odessa fell to Prometey 96-72 in the Ukrainian Superleague. Winn is averaging 7.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. 
 
Luis Valera (2008-10) led Azuqueca to an 87-81 victory against Movistar Estudiantes Madris in the Spanish EBA by scoring 12 points with four rebounds. Valera is averaging 14.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

Lew Stallworth (2016-18) plays for BC Zaporizhya in Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague.
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) plays for Kobrat in the Finnish Korisliiga
