RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 11 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) led DEAC to a 106-70 victory over JP-Auto JKSE in the Hungarian A Division on Saturday by scoring 20 points with four rebounds and three assists. Hines is averaging 11.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals in 18 games.
 
Janari Joesaar (2014-15) scored 14 points to lead Kalev/Cramo to a 99-93 victory over Kalev/TLU in a derby game in the Estonian EstLatBL on Wednesday. Joesaar is averaging 11.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
 
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) scored 10 points with 15 rebounds to lead Nokia to a 94-86 victory over Kovut in the Finnish Korisliiga on Wednesday. Toivonen is averaging 3.3 points and 4.4 rebounds in 13 games.

Perry Petty (2010-11) plays for Gorgan in Iranian Superleague
Tyson Smith (2018-19) played for Orbi in Georgian A League last year
Luis Valera (2008-10) plays for Guadalajara in Spanish EBA
Terry Winn III (2017-19) played for Odessa in Ukrainian Superleague
