RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 11 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 13 points with eight rebounds to lead DEAC to a 90-49 victory over Kaposvari on Tuesday. Hines is averaging 11.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.1 blocks and 1.6 steals in 14 games.
 
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) scored six points with five rebounds as Nokia fell to Korihait 76-72. Toivonen is averaging 2.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Isaiah Fontaine (2018-20) plays for Raiders Basket in Finnish 1st Division
Janari Joesaar (2014-15) plays for Kalev/Cramo in Estonian EstLatBL
Xavier McDaniel Jr. (2016-18) played for Seattle Mountaineers in the ABA last year
Perry Petty (2010-11) plays for Gorgan in Iranian Superleague
Tyson Smith (2018-19) played for Orbi in Georgian A League last year
Luis Valera (2008-10) plays for Guadalajara in Spanish EBA
Terry Winn III (2017-19) played for Odessa in Ukrainian Superleague
