RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 16 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
In his professional debut, Lesley Varner Jr. (2016-20) scored 12 points with three steals to lead UBSC Raiffeisen Graz to an 82-68 victory against UBC St. Poelten in the Austrian BSL on Sunday.
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 24 points with five rebounds to lead the Nishinomiya Storks to a 95-86 victory against the Aomori Watts in the Japanese B2 on Saturday. Hines is averaging 11.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals in four games.
 
Terry Winn III (2017-19) scored 26 points with 19 rebounds and three assists, but Musel Pikes fell to Racing 77-63 in the Luxembourg LBBL. Winn is averaging 21.3 points, 16.0 rebounds 1.8 assists in four games.

Xavier McDaniel Jr. (2016-18) played for Seattle Mountaineers in the ABA last season
Perry Petty (2010-11) plays for Gorgan in the Iranian Superleague
Tyson Smith (2018-19) played for Orbi in Georgian A League last season
Luis Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Musel Pikes in the Luxembourg LBBL
Paull Stoll (2006-08) plays for Fuerza Regia de Monterrey of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) played for Nokia in Finnish Korisliiga last season
Luis Valera (2008-10) plays for Lujisa Guadalajara B in the Spanish EBA (fourth division).
