RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 16 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 12 points with six rebounds to lead the Nishinomiya Storks to a 90-63 victory over Ehime OV in the Japanese B2 League last Friday. Hines is averaging 10.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists. 
 
Lesley Varner Jr (2016-20) scored 10 points to lead UBSC Raiffeisen Graz to a 66-64 victory over the Dukes in the Austrian BSL on Sunday. Varner is averaging 11.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.
 
Terry Winn III (2017-19) scored 28 points with 15 rebounds, but Musel Pikes fell at Arantia 88-76. Winn is averaging 22.6 points, 15.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in five games.

Xavier McDaniel Jr. (2016-18) played for Seattle Mountaineers in the ABA last season
Perry Petty (2010-11) plays for Gorgan in the Iranian Superleague
Tyson Smith (2018-19) played for Orbi in Georgian A League last season
Luis Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Musel Pikes in the Luxembourg LBBL
Paull Stoll (2006-08) plays for Fuerza Regia de Monterrey of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) played for Nokia in Finnish Korisliiga last season
Luis Valera (2008-10) plays for Lujisa Guadalajara B in the Spanish EBA (fourth division).
