RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 16 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Perry Petty (2010-11) scored 24 points with five rebounds and four assists to lead Shahrdari Gorgan to a 90-84 victory over Zob Ahan in the Iranian Superleague last Monday. Petty is averaging 22.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals in three games.
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 17 points with seven rebounds as Nishinomiya Storks defeated Saga Ballooners 86-74 in the Japanese B2 League last Sunday. Hines is averaging 11.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals in eight games.
 
Terry Winn III (2017-19) scored 28 points with 14 rebounds, but Musel Pikes fell at Esch 97-67 in the Luxembourg LBBL. Winn is averaging 23.3 points, 15.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
 
Janari Joesaar (2014-15) scored 13 points with six rebounds as medi Bayreuth fell at Crailsheim Merlins 86-74. Joesaar is averaging 11.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 2.5 steals per game.

Brian Burrell (2006-08) played for Team Toronto in the Eurobasket S. League last season.
Johnny Crnogorac (2017-19) plays for Albury Wodonga Bandits in the Australian NBL1 South.
Isaiah Fontaine (2018-20) plays for Atleticos de San German in Puerto Rican BSN.
Jordan Jackson (2017-20) signed with Ginásio C.F. Basketball in Portugal's Proliga.
Xavier McDaniel Jr. (2016-18) played for Seattle Mountaineers in the ABA last season.
Tyson Smith (2018-19) played for Orbi in Georgian A League last season.
Luis Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Musel Pikes in the Luxembourg LBBL.
Paull Stoll (2006-08) plays for Fuerza Regia de Monterrey of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional.
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) played for Nokia in Finnish Korisliiga last season.
Luis Valera (2008-10) plays for Lujisa Guadalajara B in the Spanish EBA (fourth division).
Lesley Varner Jr. (2016-20) plays with UBSC Raiffeisen Graz in the Austrian BSL.
