DALLAS – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's golf team finished in 14
th place at the Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU, on Tuesday at Trinity Forest Golf Club.
The Vaqueros posted a final round 309 to finish with a three-round score of 915.
Freshman
Lars van der Vight finished his first collegiate tournament tied for 50
th with a three-round score of 223 after posting a final round 78.
Freshman
Juan Luis de Bethencourt Duque posted a final round three-over par 74 as he finished tied for 63
rd with a three-round score of 228. Sophomore
Leonardo Novella posted the team's best final round score with a two-over par 73 as he finished tied for 67
th with a three-round score of 229.
Sophomore
Sebastian Lundberg finished tied for 72
nd with a three-round score of 235 after posting a final round 84. Sophomore
Rhaasrikanesh Kanavathi finished in 76
th with a three-round score of 246 after posting a final round 84.
Host SMU held to win the team title with a three-round score of 826 after posting a final round 274. SMU's Noah Goodwin took home the individual title with a three-round score of 198 after carding a final round five-under par 66.
The Vaqueros will be back in action on Oct. 11 when they tee it up at the Bentwater Intercollegiate, hosted by Sam Houston, at Bentwater Country Club.
