RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 16 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Perry Petty (2010-11) scored 30 points with 12 rebounds and four assists to lead Gorgan to a 74-70 victory over Naft Abadan in the Iranian Superleague last Wednesday. Petty is averaging 21.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
 
Lesley Varner Jr. (2016-20) scored 21 points with five rebounds to lead UBSC Raiffeisen Graz to an 86-66 victory over the Arkadia Lions in the Austrian BSL on Sunday. Varner is averaging 16.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. 
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 16 points with six rebounds as the Nishinomiya Storks beat the Kumamoto Volters 97-78 in the Japanese B2 League on Sunday. Hines is averaging 12.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. 
 
Julius Allgood (2006-09) scored seven points with four rebounds as Correcaminos de Colon beat Atletico 82-76 in the Panamanian LPB last Sunday. Allgood is averaging 11.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. 
 
Terry Winn III (2017-19) scored 29 points with 19 rebounds and four assists, but Musel Pikes fell to Contern 100-66. Winn is averaging 24.2 points, 14.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game. 
 
Luis Valera (2008-10) scored 13 points with four rebounds to help Guadalajara beat Alcobendas 72-67 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) on Sunday. Valera is averaging 8.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

Jordan Jackson (2017-20) signed with Ginásio C.F. Basketball in Portugal's Proliga.
Janari Joesaar (2014-15) plays for medi Bayreuth in the German BBL
Xavier McDaniel Jr. (2016-18) played for Seattle Mountaineers in the ABA last season.
Tyson Smith (2018-19) played for Orbi in Georgian A League last season.
Luis Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Musel Pikes in the Luxembourg LBBL.
Paull Stoll (2006-08) plays for Fuerza Regia de Monterrey of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional.
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) played for Nokia in Finnish Korisliiga last season.
