RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 15 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Julius Allgood (2006-09) scored 20 points with five rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead Correcaminos de Colon to an 83-72 victory against Atletico in the Panamanian LPB on Friday. Allgood is averaging 12.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. 
 
Luis Valera (2008-10) scored 17 points to lead Guadalajara to a 76-71 victory over Quintanar in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) on Saturday. Valera is averaging 9.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
 
Lesley Varner Jr. (2016-20) scored 23 points with five rebounds as UBSC Raiffeisen Graz fell at Kapfenberg Bulls 89-69. Varner is averaging 17.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored nine points with five rebounds as Nishinomiya Storks fell to Fukuoka Rizing 75-69 in the Japanese B2 League. Hines is averaging 12.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.

Tyson Smith (2018-19) plays for Arena-Orbi Tbilisi in the Georgian A League.
Luis Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Musel Pikes in the Luxembourg LBBL.
Paul Stoll (2006-08) plays for Fuerza Regia de Monterrey of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional.
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) plays for Nokia in the Finnish Korisliiga.
Terry Winn III (2017-19) plays for Musel Pikes in Luxembourg LBBL
