RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 15 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Perry Petty (2010-11) scored 19 points with 11 rebounds, seven assists and three steals to learn Gorgan to a 93-80 victory over Kerman in the Iranian Superleague last Saturday. Petty is averaging 21.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
 
Lesley Varner Jr. (2016-20) scored 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead UBSC Raiffeisen Graz to an 87-70 victory over the Timberwolves in the Austrian BSL on Sunday. Varner is averaging 18.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game.
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 22 points with five rebounds and four assists, but the Nishinomiya Storks fell at Ehime OV 92-77 in the Japanese B2 League. Hines is averaging 13.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

Tyson Smith (2018-19) plays for Arena-Orbi Tbilisi in the Georgian A League.
Luis Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Musel Pikes in the Luxembourg LBBL.
Paul Stoll (2006-08) plays for Fuerza Regia de Monterrey of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional.
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) plays for Nokia in the Finnish Korisliiga.
Luis Valera (2008-10) plays for Guadalajara in Spanish EBA
Terry Winn III (2017-19) plays for Musel Pikes in Luxembourg LBBL
