RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 15 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 18 points with eight rebounds to lead Nishinomiya Storks to a 77-65 victory over Yamagata in the Japanese B2 League on Sunday. Hines is averaging 12.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 19 games. 
 
Lesley Varner Jr (2016-20) scored 17 points with five rebounds as UBSC Raiffeisen Graz fell at the Gmunden Swans 98-90 in overtime on Sunday in the Austrian BSL. Varner is averaging 17.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game.
 
Experienced Luis Valera (2008-10) scored 20 points with five rebounds as Guadalajara fell at Majadahonda 88-85 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) Group B. Valera is averaging 10.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in nine games.
 
Terry Winn III (2017-19) scored 21 points with 20 rebounds and three steals as Musel Pikes fell at Heffingen 70-64 on Saturday in the Luxembourg LBBL. Winn is averaging 23.9 points, 15.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

Perry Petty (2010-11) plays for Gorgan in Iranian Superleague
Tyson Smith (2018-19) plays for Arena-Orbi Tbilisi in the Georgian A League.
Luis Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Musel Pikes in the Luxembourg LBBL.
Paul Stoll (2006-08) plays for Fuerza Regia de Monterrey of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional.
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) plays for Nokia in the Finnish Korisliiga.
