RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 11 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Luis Valera (2008-10) scored 24 points with seven rebounds as Guadalajara fell to Real Madrid in the Spanish EBA. Valera is averaging 15.0 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. 
 
Janari Joesaar (2014-15) scored 11 points with three steals as Kalev/Cramo lost 80-72 on the road to Parma. Joesaar is averaging 11points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals in eight games played so far.


Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) grabbed 13 rebounds with six points as Nokia fell to Vilpas in the Finnish Korisliiga. Toivonen is averaging 3.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 17 games.

Johnny Crnogorac (2017-19) plays for Inner WB in Australian WARATAH
Isaiah Fontaine (2018-20) plays for Raiders Basket in Finnish 1st Division
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) plays for DEAC in Hungarian A Division
Xavier McDaniel Jr. (2016-18) played for Seattle Mountaineers in the ABA last year
Perry Petty (2010-11) plays for Gorgan in Iranian Superleague
Tyson Smith (2018-19) played for Orbi in Georgian A League last year
Terry Winn III (2017-19) played for Odessa in Ukrainian Superleague
