RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 12 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Janari Joesaar (2014-15) scored 13 points with 13 rebounds, four steals and two blocks to lead BC Kalev/Cramo Tallinn to a 76-71 victory over league-leading Parnu in the Estonian EstLatBL on Thursday. Kalev/Cramo has now won seven in a row and sports a 15-2 record. Joesaar is averaging 13.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
 
Perry Petty (2010-11) scored 11 points with four rebounds, four assists and three steals to lead Shahrdari Gorgan past Ayandeh Sazan 90-64 in the Iranian Superleague on Sunday. Shahrdari Gorgan is now 16-0. Petty is averaging 10.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 3.8 steals per game.
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 11 points with seven rebounds and three assists to help Debreceni Egyetemis (DEAC) to a 98-89 victory over Szombathely in the Hungarian A Division on Saturday. Hines is averaging 11.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
 
Luis Valera (2008-10) scored 18 points with nine rebounds, but Guadalajara fell at Nautico Tenerife 85-63 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division). Valera is averaging 17.0 points and 6.6 rebounds in seven games.
