RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 12 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Janari Joesaar (2014-15) scored 29 points with 12 rebounds to lead BC Kalev/Cramo Tallinn to a 95-88 victory over Enea Zastal BC Zielona Gora the VTB United League on Tuesday. Joesaar is averaging 13.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 13 points with seven rebounds and three blocks, but Debreceni Egyetemis (DEAC) fell at Kaposvari 93-72 in the Hungarian A Division on Friday. Hines is averaging 11.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
 
Luis Valera (2008-10) scored 25 points with five rebounds, but Guadalajara fell to Boadilla 85-81 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division). Valera is averaging 18.0 points and 6.4 rebounds in eight games.
 
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) scored nine points with five rebounds as Nokia fell to Kauhajoki 96-74 in the Finnish Korisliiga. Toivonen is averaging 4.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

Xavier McDaniel Jr. (2016-18) played for Seattle Mountaineers in the ABA last year
Perry Petty (2010-11) plays for Gorgan in Iranian Superleague
Tyson Smith (2018-19) played for Orbi in Georgian A League last year
Lew Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Timisoara in Romanian Liga Nationala
Terry Winn III (2017-19) played for Odessa in Ukrainian Superleague
