RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 12 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Luis Valera (2008-10) scored 19 points with nine rebounds to lead Guadalajara to an 86-73 victory over Lanzarote in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) on Saturday. Valera is averaging 16.8 points and 6.9 rebounds in 18 games. 
 
Johnny Crnogorac (2017-19) scored 14 points with 10 rebounds, but the Albury Wodonga Bandits fell to the Kilsyth Cobras 98-69 on the road in the NBL1 South group. Crnogorac is averaging 10.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. 
 
Terry Winn III (2017-19) scored 36 points with eight rebounds to lead the Tampa Bay Titans to a 134-127 victory against the Carolina Coyotes in the TBL on Friday. Winn is averaging 15.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

Janari Joesaar (2014-15) plays for Kalev/Cramo in Estonian KML
Xavier McDaniel Jr. (2016-18) played for Seattle Mountaineers in the ABA last year
Perry Petty (2010-11) plays for Gorgan in Iranian Superleague
Tyson Smith (2018-19) played for Orbi in Georgian A League last year
Lew Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Timisoara in Romanian Liga Nationala
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) plays for Nokia in Finnish Korisliiga
