Watch the 1971 Baseball Team Clinch a Trip to the College World Series

OMAHA, Neb. – 50 years ago today, UTRGV legacy institution Pan American College (PAC) made its first appearance in the Men's College World Series.
 
That 1971 PAC team went 2-2, earning an 8-2 win over Seton Hall and a 1-0 victory over Harvard while dropping a pair of contests to eventual runner-up Southern Illinois, 5-4 and 8-6.
 
To reach the Men's College World Series, PAC shutout Texas in San Antonio in back-to-back games, 1-0 and 4-0.
 
This weekend, the NCAA is conducting Super Regionals to determine which eight teams will advance to the 2021 Men's College World Series.
 
In honor of the 1971 baseball team and the teams looking to make it to Omaha this year, UTRGV Athletics is making available video of the 4-0 victory over Texas that clinched the program's first trip to the Men's College World Series.
