KINGSVILLE – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's tennis team wrapped up play at the Javelina Invitational on Saturday at the Javelina Tennis Courts.
The doubles team of freshman
Marjorie Souza and sophomore
Lea Karren picked up a 6-2 win over St. Mary's Ashley Penshorn and Marina Vigil to advance to the finals in the Blue Draw but fell to Incarnate Word's Brandelyn Fulgenzi and Laura Fulgenzi 4-6.

Ana Platisa closed out play with a 6-4 win over Jana Knaab and Alejandra Landaluce in the Gold Draw.
The Vaqueros will be back in action on Oct. 2 when they compete at the Texas State Invitational in San Marcos.
