RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 15 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 47 points with five rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 36 minutes to lead the Nishinomiya Storks to a 92-71 victory over the Bambitious Nara last Monday. Hines is averaging 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 28 games.
 
Lesley Varner Jr. (2016-20) scored 21 points with eight rebounds in 40 minutes to lead UBSC Raiffeisen Graz to a 73-64 victory over Raiffeisen Flyers Wels in the Austrian BSL on Saturday. Varner is averaging 19.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 2.3 steals in 13 games.
 
Luis Valera (2008-10) scored 17 points with nine rebounds to lead Guadalajara to a 97-89 victory over La Matanza in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) on Saturday. Valera is averaging 11.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
 
Perry Petty (2010-11) scored 12 points with six rebounds and six assists to lead Shahrdari Gorgan to a 91-66 victory over Naft Abadan in the Iranian Superleague last Sunday. Petty is averaging 17.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
 
Janari Joesaar (2014-15) scored 10 points as medi Bayreuth fell at EnBW Ludwigsburg 86-67 in the German BBL on Saturday. Joesaar is averaging 10.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game.

Luis Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Musel Pikes in the Luxembourg LBBL.
Paul Stoll (2006-08) plays for Fuerza Regia de Monterrey of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional.
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) plays for Nokia in the Finnish Korisliiga.
Terry Winn III (2017-19) plays for Musel Pikes in Luxembourg LBBL
