RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 15 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 34 points with six rebounds and three assists to lead the Nishinomiya Storks to an 84-65 victory over Fukushima in the Japanese B2 League last Sunday. Hines is averaging 15.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 26 games.
 
Lesley Varner Jr. (2016-20) scored 28 points with eight rebounds and three blocks to lead UBSC Raiffeisen Graz to a 70-61 victory over the Dukes last Wednesday in the Austrian BSL. Varner is averaging 19.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game.
 
Perry Petty (2010-11) scored seven points with 11 rebounds and four assists to lead Shahrdari Gorgan to an 88-86 victory over Kouchin in the Iranian Superleague last Sunday. Petty is averaging 19.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game.

Tyson Smith (2018-19) plays for Arena-Orbi Tbilisi in the Georgian A League.
Luis Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Musel Pikes in the Luxembourg LBBL.
Paul Stoll (2006-08) plays for Fuerza Regia de Monterrey of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional.
Lauri Toivonen (2011-14) plays for Nokia in the Finnish Korisliiga.
Luis Valera (2008-10) plays for Guadalajara in Spanish EBA
Terry Winn III (2017-19) plays for Musel Pikes in Luxembourg LBBL
