RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 15 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 21 points with 14 rebounds and four assists to lead Medipolis Science City Jena to an 87-69 victory over the Kirchheim Knights in the German ProA (second division) on Saturday. Hines is averaging 17.7 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists. 
 
Mike Adewunmi (2021-22) scored 17 points with 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals as Shumen fell to CSKA 70-68 in the Bulgarian National Basketball League. Adewunmi is averaging 17.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. 
 
Javon Levi (2017-21) dished out nine assists with six steals, four points and four rebounds to help KK Dubrovnik beat Zagreb 84-64 in the Croatian Prva Liga (second division) on Saturday. Levi is averaging 5.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 5.5 steals per game. 
 
Lesley Varner II (2016-20) scored 12 points with eight rebounds as the Newcastle Eagles fell to the Sharks 66-59 last Friday. Varner is averaging 10.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
 
In his season debut, Luis Valera (2008-10) scored seven points with five rebounds as Guadalajara beat BT Madrid 86-66 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) on Saturday.

Xavier McDaniel Jr. (2016-18) played for Elite 1 Storm in the PHASE1 Academy Elite 1 Caribbean Basketball Summer League.
Perry Petty (2010-11) plays for Gorgan in Iranian Superleague
Lew Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Tskhum-Abkhazeti in Georgian Superleague
Paul Stoll (2006-08) plays for Fuerza Regia de Monterrey in Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Professional and recently led Team Mexico in the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup.
Terry Winn III (2017-19) plays for JobStairs Giessen 46ers in German ProA
