RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) announced on Wednesday that The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's tennis junior Isabelle Bahr and sophomore Marjorie Souza have been named the TicketSmarter WAC Women's Tennis Doubles Players of the Month for September. 
 
Bahr and Souza represented UTRGV at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Championships in Fort Worth from Sept. 23-24. They went 1-1 in doubles at the prestigious tournament, defeating Lamar's Jayci Wong/Anna Emma Shasteen 8-1 in the opening doubles match of the competition to advance to the Main Draw Round of 32. They fell to the 14^th seeded doubles team of Federica Trevisan/Saara Orav from Rice, 8-1. 
 
Tarleton's Emma Persson was named the WAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Month for September. 
 
Bahr, Souza and their Vaqueros teammates will be back in action Saturday and Sunday at the Texas State Invitational in San Marcos.
