Men's Basketball Alumni in the Pros Update

RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 14 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) scored 16 points with nine rebounds in Medipolis Science City Jena's season-opening 86-60 victory over Uni Baskets in the German ProA (second division) on Friday.
 
Janari Joesaar (2014-15) scored 11 points with 10 rebounds and our assists to lead Anwil Wloclawek to an 85-67 victory over Sokol in the Polish EBL on Friday. Joesaar is averaging 12.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
 
Lesley Varner II (2016-20) scored 15 points with seven rebounds as the Newcastle Eagles fell to the Manchester Giants 84-64 on the road on Friday in the British BBL. Varner is averaging 11.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

Perry Petty (2010-11) plays for Gorgan in Iranian Superleague
Lew Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Tskhum-Abkhazeti in Georgian Superleague
Paul Stoll (2006-08) plays for Fuerza Regia de Monterrey in Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Professional and recently led Team Mexico in the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup.
Luis Valera (2008-10) plays for Gigantes in Venezuelan SPB
Terry Winn III (2017-19) plays for JobStairs Giessen 46ers in German ProA
