Women's Golf Kicks Off Spring Season Monday at Texas State Invitational

KYLE – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's golf team kicks off their spring season when they tee it up at the Texas State Invitational starting on Monday at Plum Creek Golf Course.

Tournament Format

Monday will feature two rounds with teams teeing off starting at 8:15 a.m.
The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m.

Plum Creek Golf Club plays 5,981 yards.
The par for the course is 71.

Last Time Out

UTRGV closed out the fall season with a match play matchup against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
UTRGV fell 2-5 to Corpus Christi in their lone match play event of the season.
Maria Jose Ramirez defeated Reagan Gray 3 & 2 to give UTRGV a full point.

UTRGV finished in 12^th place with a three-round score of 963 after rounds of 329, 326, and 308.
Mercedes Vega led the Vaqueros with a three-round score of 236 as she finished tied for 39^th with rounds of 82, 79, and 75.
Julie Lucio finished tied for 50^th with a three-round score of 240 after rounds of 84, 79, and 77.
Rachel Yu tied for 50^th with a three-round score of 240 with rounds of 81, 87, and 72.
Madi Ozuna tied for 62^nd with a three-round score of 251 with rounds of 83, 84, and 84.
Samantha Garza finished tied for 62^nd with a three-round score of 251 after rounds of 83, 84, and 84.
BYU won the team title with a three-round score of 882 after posting rounds of 297, 295, and 290.
BYU's Annick Haczkiewicz surged with a final round 68 to win the individual title with a three-round score of 211.
