Women's Golf Returns to Action at the ORU Spring Invite on Monday

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – After nearly a month, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's golf team returns to action when they compete at the ORU Spring Invite starting on Monday at The Club at Indian Springs.

Tournament Format

The first two rounds will be played on Monday with teams teeing off at 8:30 a.m.
The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

Golf Course Info

The River Course at The Club at Indian Springs plays 6,130 yards.
The par for the course is 72.

UTRGV finished in 11^th place at the HCU Husky Invitational with a three-round score of 940 after posting rounds of 313, 312, and 315.
Samantha Garza led the way for UTRGV as she finished tied for 30^th with a three-round score of 232 with rounds of 79, 77, and 76.
Jackie Howard Gonzalez finished tied for 33^rd with a three-round score of 233 after rounds of 78, 78, and 77.
Julie Lucio finished tied for 45^th with a three-round score of 238 after posting rounds of 78, 82, and 78.
Mercedes Vega finished tied for 45^th with a three-round score of 238 with rounds of 79, 75, and 84.
Sophia Tejeda finished in 75^th with a three-round score of 250 with rounds of 78, 83, and 89.

Last Time at ORU Spring Invite

UTRGV did not compete in last year's ORU Spring Invite.
Arkansas State won the team title with a three-round score of 874 after posting rounds of 293, 288, and 293.
Host Oral Roberts finished in second place with a three-round score of 883 with rounds of 291, 289, and 303.
Missouri State finished in third with a three-round score of 912 with rounds of 311, 308, and 293.
Arkansas State's Olivia Schmidt won the individual title with a three-round score of 213 after turning in rounds of 70, 72, and 71.
Oral Roberts' Kiana Oshiro and Sarah Bell finished in second and third with scores of 214 and 215, respectively.
